Wedding Gown Hunt in Guang Zhou : Part 3

HOW CHEAP IS CHEAP?

There's no yard stick to this. Here's my definition of cheap: Renting a gown from bridal shop cost RM300 while a brand new gown from GZ is just barely RM130, this is what I call DIRT CHEAP!

Don't believe me, let me show you this.
Around RMB200

Less than RMB 250

Retail price RMB 400
(my friend go ahead and bargain and see what u get)

ALL these are less than RMB 290.

Tell me! Cheap or not? Hello!!!! its not RINGGIT MALAYSIA, its in REN MIN BI.
RM 1 = RMB2.2 (April 08)
So go and do the maths.

Besides wedding/evening gowns, make sure you buy your wedding accessories like necklace, earrings, headpiece, matching hand gloves from Guang Zhou. I guarantee you that its cheaper over there.
When you see shops like these....

make sure you go in and find the perfect accessories/ hand gloves/ head piece to match your gowns.

Other than that, don't miss out the all the 'Ang Ang' (Red Red) wedding necessities....
DOUBLE HAPPINESS wordings, Ang Pows

Tea sets

Or anything that you think is NECESSARY!! I repeat NECESSARY!!

I have given you all the details. And now its time for you to discover Guang Zhou wedding street on your own. And I hope all these would help.

Latest Update:
According to Mr Meow, estimated cost for low budget traveling 3D/2N for 2 to GZ (air ticket, accommodation[2 star], transportation, gowns[4 gowns] and miscellaneous) is less than RM3000. Mr Meow, I seriously "pui fuk" you!

marie, did you have to alter the dresses? did you do it in china or malaysia? how much as it?

Marie said...

Cherry, I did mine in M'sia. If i'm not mistaken less than RM100 to alter 10 dresses.

Pam Song said...

WHAT!? Alteration so cheap???

Usually when I alter even a regular dress, it costs RM20!!! Like to sew darts at the back and tighten it only. OMG, I feel like I've been ripped off!!!

You wore 10 dresses for your wedding meh? Wasn't the whole changing from one baju to another real tiring?

Hi,i'm Grace here.
I have viewed all ur infomation, really thanks and i found it useful for me.
Because i'm getting married on 28 Dec 2008,and i'm planning to take my pre-wedding photo at hong kong.I'll go to hk on end of july,so i'll go guang zhou b4 that.
But if the bridal house already provide me 2 gowns for my weddind day,do u think i still have to buy?by my side i think buy a wedding gown is waste, because only wear once.So maybe u can give me ur comment to change my mind.

hie marie!! remember me? im joyce..from taylors last time..love all the dresses!! reading this post make me feel like getting married!!

Marie said...

Pam sayang, if i wore 10 dresses I'm sure I'll be in "The Malaysia Book of Record". I wore 6 outfits for 2 days. The others are my bridemaids, mummy and mummy II evening gowns. That's why there are 10.

Hi Grace, thank you so much. I hope you find this useful for you. Since your bridal house is providing you 2 gowns, then stick to that, bcoz you have already paid for it. You could go to GZ for wedding necessities, like jeweleries or hair accessories, bedside red table lamp etc...

Joyce dearie!!! of coz i remember you, you sweet lil' thing. If you feel like getting married, then its time to hint your man. *wink*

Marie said...

Chinnee, u can bet that i do. I'm thinking of another trip to GZ to hunt 4 Baby Necessities "IF" i'm expecting. Baby prams, baby educational toys/games...i think that will be very fun....

Hi Marie,

I happen to saw ur blog via one of my friend recommendation. Your wedding dress are owesone. May I know how soon should we go and buy the wedding dress before our wedding dinner? (i.e 1 mth or 2 mths before) Secondly, which hotel do u stay? Is there any clean and cheap hotel nearby?

I really like your selections (sooo pretty!). I really had a good idea of the features I wanted as well, and it saved me a lot of money. When I saw the dress that matched my vision @ a great price it was easy to pick it up and run with it.If You Nead to Wedding Dresses Please Contact:- China-stylish.com is a professional company that integrates the design, wholesale, production and marketing.

Hi Marie,
Can you tell me where you alter your gowns? Really appreciate this!

Nicole Mak said...

hi Mrs. Anoti,
Nicole here, I am going to GZ on end of June2010 to take my pre-wedding photograph. But i have no contact, do u know any reliable wedding studio in GZ? I am on tight budget.
If i could not take photo in GZ, i will buy few gowns@Jiangnandadao, and take photo in Msia since the gowns are quite cheap. The gown that u bought is very nice, i love it so much. Do u still remember the shop name where u buy the gown?

TQ

Marie said...

Hi Nicole, I dont have studio contact over there. But i'm sure u can easily find one. When u reach Jiang Nan Da Dao, you will not think of shop names, bcoz the whole long stretch of streets sell different type of gowns. I'm sure u'll find one to your liking. Dun worry and enjoy.
